It’s official – Love Island is back on our screens, and as always some of the most talked about elements from the season launch is the hair, makeup and fashion. Five new girls arrived in the villa and of course they each looked flawless, with their own unique sense of style. Showcasing various stunning makeup looks, here’s how to recreate the Love Island Makeup inspired by the first five female contestants for 2019…
Bold Brow and Natural Lip – Yewande
Yewande is a natural beauty. For her debut appearance on Love Island, she went for a subtle base with a bold brow and natural lip to enhance her bone structure and full pout. This is an ideal day to night look – simply add a graphic flick of eyeliner to upgrade your look for the evening.
To recreate, a liquid matte lipstick is a must. Easy to blend and creating a subtle finish that enhances the lips, this looks all about a soft blurred edge – no hash lines or lip liners needed here. Available in a variety of shades, the PHOERA Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick will create a beautiful full lip look in a colour to suit your skin tone.
Dewy Glowing Skin – Amber
Amber’s makeup look was natural and subtle for the day, with a focus on a dewy finish. This can be achieved using primers and highlighters, to add a glow in all the right places, while a matte foundation will ensure you stay shine free in all those places that you don’t want to create a glow.
Using highlighter carefully, you can enhance your bone structure and create a lovely fresh faced summer look. To prep the skin, try the Dew Me Rose Setting Spray, which can be used as a primer as well as a setting spray. Spritz on the face before applying your makeup to help hydrate and create a healthy glow. Apply a matte foundation, using sparingly to create a natural finish, followed by the sooglow Cream Highlighter. Use your fingers to pat along the cheek bones, brow bone, down the centre of the nose, the centre of the chin, and along your cupid’s bow.
‘No Makeup’ Makeup – Lucie
Lucie’s makeup looked very natural on the night of the launch, almost appearing like she was wearing no makeup at all. To create a ‘no makeup’ makeup look, it’s all about achieving a subtle and flawless base.
Prepping the skin is essential, as is the quality of the products that you use. Start by using a good quality primer, such as the Photo Finish Face Primer, which will blur pores as well as fine lines. Next apply a cream-based concealer to cover any dark circles, blemishes or discolouration. For the finishing touches, add a pat of highlighter to your cheekbones and a sweep of mascara.
Blush Matte Lip – Amy
Amy’s makeup look was simple and pretty, with a blush matte lip being the focal point. To recreate this, you need to go for a lipstick with a matte finish and with good pigmentation to make your lips the statement of your look. Try the Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in shade Only You which is close to Amy’s blush shade. This long lasting liquid lipstick is waterproof, ensuring the colour stays strong all day long.
Strong Contour – Anna
Last but not least, Anna supported a strong contoured look on launch night. Ideal for sculpting the face, adding definition and bringing out the features, Anna’s look isn’t too tricky to replicate for yourself.
Start by priming the skin and applying a matte foundation. Apply lightly to avoid looking to ‘over done’ – you’ll be adding more on top to create your contour, so no need for a heavy foundation at this stage. Next use a contouring cream a few shades darker than your foundation, and apply in the hollows of your cheeks, along your jawline, either side of your chin and down the sides of your nose. Use a blending sponge and blend outwards. Next apply highlighter to your cheekbones and down the centre of your nose, and set the look with a setting powder.
As you can see, it’s easy to recreate the Love Island 2019 makeup looks for yourself. Ensure the products that you use are high quality and designed to last, so that your makeup stays put all day.
