Summer is a great season when it comes to experimenting and getting creative with makeup. With new products, new trends to try and new places to visit and events to attend, there’s so much opportunity to be playful with your look. Which of the trends are more wearable though, and how can you recreate the looks for yourself? Read on to discover three summer makeup trends to try now…
1.Sun kissed Skin
This year it’s all about creating a striking glow and bronzed sun kissed skin. Think how your skin looks after a day spent relaxing poolside or on the beach, but without the potential skin damage. More and more of us are taking more care over our skin, which has driven this trend – to cheat the sun kissed look.
Creating sun kissed skin means lots of bronzer and highlighter. When it comes to your base, use a primer to start to create a flawless base. The Photo Finish Makeup Primer is ideal to blur pores and will control oil throughout the day. This look is all about creating a fresh and natural finish, so just opt for concealer rather than foundation. Apply the PHOERA Liquid Concealer under the eyes, to the centre of the chin and around the nose, and on any blemishes for a flawless finish.
Next apply a touch of Compact Powder in one shade darker than your skin tone to set your concealer and add subtle colour. Take the compact powder in a colour that’s 2-3 shades darker than your skin. Apply this with a bronzer brush to the areas where the sun would naturally hit your face – such as your forehead, down the sides of your nose and your chin. Add a little to the apples and hollows of your cheeks too. Finish the look with a pat of highlighter along your cheekbones, a sweep of mascara and a pat of the Iridescent Lip Gloss.
2. Bright and Colourful Eyes
From winged liner and full colour block eyes, this summer it’s all about colour when it comes to eyeshadows and liners. As seen on the 2019 spring/summer catwalks, statement eyes are the way to go this season. Don’t be shy when it comes to your colour choices either – the brighter and bolder the better.
To create a winged eyeliner look in a bright shade, use the Eyeliner Gel Pencil. Available in 12 daring colours from electric blue and buttercup yellow to warm orange and deep purple, this pencil to gel liner is easy to apply and will provide up to 12 hours of bold colour.
For an allover colour, the PHOERA Liquid Shadow is ideal. With a huge range of colours from pastels to brights, this liquid shadow will create bold and highly pigmented colour. Go for a single shade all over the lid, and bring the colour right forward around the tear duct to nail this look.
3. Graphic Glitter
Glitter is all over lips and eyes for this season. For festivals or similar, try both together for a unique and whimsical look, otherwise opt for a glittery eye or lip, instead of both. For a subtle daytime look, go for natural nude and pink shades, or for a bold evening look, go for darker shades or brights.
To create a glitter lip, try the Matte to Glitter Lip Gloss. This amazing product makes it easy to achieve MUA worthy glitter lips, that are notoriously difficult to create. Simply sweep on the gloss, allow two minutes to dry to a matte finish, then press the lips together to reveal a highly pigmented glitter lip.
If a glitter eyeshadow is more your thing, the PHOERA Glitter Shadow will become a go-to in your makeup bag this summer. Available in 12 diverse shades, this glitter eyeshadow is easy to apply and will stay put all day long.
